Poachers are most likely the cause of why these animals are disappearing. Poachers hunt and kill animals. Poachers hunt animals illegally.
We have to save these animals from hunters. Why would anyone want to hurt or kill these animals.

Poaching is banned in some countries. Poachers kill animals out of greed, as illegal markets can fetch huge sums for different body parts like skin etc. of the animals. Poachers generally hunt species that are in a protected area. For example would a elephants in a safe protected area by law, being hunted for their ivory tusks.

Poachers like the ones in Africa or India hunt animals for their fur, horns, claws, and other body parts that they either sell, eat, or use in medicine because they believe it has special powers. Poaching is one of the top reasons for animals being endangered.

They kill animals for money. Poachers can kill an animal by trapping or shooting them with a rifle. It depends on what animal they poach. Basically they stalk and kill it for valuable body parts. Gorillas often lose their head and hands for trophy pieces.

Poachers sometimes goes after the animals young one or their eggs. They often sell them to people who want to have a wild animal as a pet.

Animal products, some like a hide, ivory, horn, teeth and bone, are sold to dealers who make clothes, jewelry and other materials from them. In some Latin American and African societies, animals are being poached for game meat. For example in Congo, wild monkey meat is sold in the open markets, and in many parts of North America, and the white-tailed deer is hunted for food.
